Google awarded US patent for driver less car technology. The intellectual rights relate to a method to switch a vehicle from human-controlled mode into auto mode.So car itself can take a control when it is needed,where it is located and where it need to drive.The transition from human mode to auto mode may include stopping the vehicle on a predefined landing strip and detecting reference indicator which tells the vehicle its exact position and provides the instruction to go auto mode.
Google suggested the technology could be used for this purpose.Google proposed using two set of sensors .The first identifies a “landing strip” when the vehicle stops.After that the second set receives the instruction to inform the machine where it is positioned and where it should go.The landing strip could be a mark on the ground or a sign on the wall.It will be hidden from public.GPS technology is used to find out on which landing strip the car parked.
Google’s driver less car is on test run for several years with the help of artificial intelligence,Google’s street view maps , video cameras and range sensors.
